DMCA and Copyright Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

IndoorCatLab respects the intellectual property of others and expects the same of anyone who uses indoorcatlab.com. This page explains how to tell us about content you believe infringes your copyright, and how we respond under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

What we publish

Our articles, rankings, and the ICL Score are written and produced by IndoorCatLab. Product images shown next to listings are displayed from Amazon. Illustrations and social sharing cards are created by us or used under a license from a stock photo service, with credit where the license requires it. If you believe something on the site uses your work without permission, we want to know so we can review it.

How to send a copyright notice

Email your notice to [email protected] and begin the subject line with “DMCA Notice.” To be complete, the notice must include:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  • A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  • The URL of each page on indoorcatlab.com where the material appears, with enough detail for us to find it.
  • Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

Notices missing these details may delay our response or prevent us from acting on them.

What happens next

When we receive a complete notice, we review it and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material identified. If the material was supplied by a third party, we may forward your notice to them. We may also reply to ask for more information.

Counter-notice

If material you supplied was removed and you believe this was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address with “DMCA Counter-Notice” in the subject line. It must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • A description of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which IndoorCatLab may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.

False claims

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), a person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. If you are unsure whether material infringes your rights, consider seeking legal advice before sending a notice.

Repeat infringers

Where appropriate, we may restrict access for anyone who repeatedly submits infringing material.
