About IndoorCatLab

IndoorCatLab is an independent publication about the gear people use to keep indoor cats comfortable. We cover litter boxes (self-cleaning, standard, and enclosures), cat litter and odor cleanup, cat furniture such as trees, wall shelves, scratchers, wheels, and beds, plus automatic feeders and water fountains. We recommend the products we believe are worth your money and explain who each one suits.

What we do

Choosing a litter box or a cat tree should not take a weekend of reading forum threads. We do that reading for you. For each category, we decide what matters most, gather the current options, compare them against the same criteria, and explain the trade-offs in plain language: small apartments, multi-cat homes, large cats, senior cats, and kittens all need different things.

Why “Lab”?

The name describes our approach, not a physical facility. We do not operate a lab, and we do not claim to have used the products we cover. Our recommendations come from research: manufacturer specifications, published independent reviews, and patterns in owner ratings. How We Review explains the full method.

How we stay independent

Brands cannot pay to be featured, to earn a higher ICL Score, or to change a verdict. We do not accept payment for reviews, and we do not place sponsored products inside our rankings. When the evidence changes, we change our recommendation.

We are not veterinarians

Our guides are about choosing and using products. They are not veterinary advice. If your cat stops using the litter box, strains to urinate, has blood in the urine, stops eating, or drinks much more or less than usual, contact your veterinarian.
